“Supermoon”

The Apollo 11 Crew Tribute at the entrance of the Appleton International Airport (crew members Mission Commander Neil Armstrong, Lunar Module Commander Buzz Aldrin and Command Module Pilot Mike Collins) is only one star of the show for this month’s The Place We Call Home.

“I tried to photograph the ‘supermoon’ last month as it set to the West but it was pretty tough,” Ken Kmper says. “The light illuminating the astronauts turned off just as I was focusing for the first shot and it was a compromise with the focusing with the moon being so distant… (but it) could not have lined up better for me!”
