Arts Alive!

In tandem with the Kimberly-Clark Broadway Across America – Fox Cities Series, the Fox Cities Performing Arts Center (P.A.C.) announced its plans to make a return to the stage with the 2021-22 Boldt Arts Alive! Series.

Small Island Big Song

After a nearly 18-month hiatus in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, P.A.C. president Maria Van Laanen says “Arts Alive!” gets its name from the revival of arts on the P.A.C.’s stages, and themes of inclusiveness and togetherness are similarly present across the series’ eight-show lineup.

“We kept coming back to this theme about how excited we all are to get back together during live experiences,” Van Laanen says. “Hopefully we can engage the community in some really important conversations around that and how we can be more inclusive and celebrate togetherness.”

Makaroff’s Youth Ballet’s The Nutcracker returns in December, followed by 2022’s debut Arts Alive! show “it gets better.” Later 2021 shows include Small Island Big Song, Black Violin and Celtic Woman Postcards from Ireland, among others.

Van Laanen says the COVID hiatus posed a unique challenge to scheduling – since the 2020 and much of the 2021 lineup had been canceled.

“Nobody’s experienced anything like this and certainly not the center in our 18-year history,” Van Laanen says. “It was very interesting that we had, you know, essentially three seasons that we’re trying to combine into one, and then we had to figure out what combination of those things were possible in 21-22.”

The P.A.C. remains committed to its goal of providing memorable live entertainment in a safe environment. Detailed information about the P.A.C.’s health plan is forthcoming and will be made available at foxcitiespac.com/showupdates.
