Tell us about your background: I am from Combined Locks and attended Kimberly High School. I’ve played tennis since I was about 6 and thoroughly enjoyed my time on the high school team. I played for a short period of time at St. Norbert College as well. I love being active and being outside, but I am equally enthusiastic about Netflix and a quiet night in. I hope to graduate from St. Norbert in May of 2020 with a degree in Communication and Media. 

Why did you want to be an intern at FCM?I wanted to be an intern at Fox Cities Magazine because I work at a coffee shop that receives their magazines. I love this community and really wanted to improve my writing skills and experience. Therefore, I thought this would be the perfect opportunity for me. 

What’s your favorite thing about the Fox Cities?My favorite thing about the Fox Cities is that despite it being a smaller area compared to most, there is still so much to do. College Ave. in Appleton is especially vibrant and exciting to me. 

The last book you read: Well, I am a student. So, I am in the middle of reading several textbooks. The last book I read for fun was the “Art of Conversation” by Sherry Turkle. 

Last movie you watched: “Eat, Pray, Love” and I’ll be honest…it didn’t live up to the hype. 

Any hidden talents?I am actually pretty good at juggling and had a role as a clown in “Toby Tyler” when I was in 5th grade.

What can’t you live without? My laptop. I just shipped it to Apple since it was having some issues and it’s been rough. 

What’s the biggest risk you ever took? I studied abroad in Italy last spring! I don’t speak Italian, but I know Spanish pretty well which is close enough. I got to travel around Europe and meet up with other friends who were studying during that time too. It was scary, but so worth the risk! 

What’s the best advice you’ve ever received? The best advice I received is to simply ask questions. I have had a lot of great experiences occur because I simply asked a question. 

Describe your perfect Saturday: I love taking road trips to the Twin Cities since I have a lot of friends who live there. The cities are especially nice to visit in fall.
