1st Annual Bubolz Brew Ski

The Bubolz Nature Preserve is hosting its 1st Annual Bubolz Brew Ski on February 15th. This event combines beautiful winter scenery with samples from local breweries, wineries and craft cocktails as well as entertainment inside “The Lodge,” Bubolz’s new environmental center. “The Brew Ski is the perfect winter happy hour,” says Bubolz Development Manager Nicci Sprangers. Attendees can arrive any time between 5 p.m.-7:30 p.m.

Beginning outdoors, attendees will explore the Preserve’s one-mile snowshoe or 1.5-mile ski trail illuminated by candles and moonlight. No matter your experience, there will be Bubolz staff on hand to help those who are new to cross-country skiing or snowshoeing. Ski and snowshoe rental is included in the event cost, but participants are also welcome to bring their own equipment. The open skiing and snowshoeing portion will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. To conclude the outdoor fun, there will be a campfire and alcoholic hot cocoa.

Attendees can then spend the rest of the event cozily in The Lodge. The Preserve’s new center, completed in 2018, contains over 5,500 square feet of event space. From 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., guests will be able to warm up with the sampling event featuring local breweries, wineries and craft cocktails. Sampling from each vendor is included in the registration fee, and additional drinks can be purchased at the bar. Also during this time, guests will be able to enjoy live music by Jason McNabb.

“The Brew Ski is a great way to showcase Bubolz’s 8.5 miles of trails and over 700-plus acres to our community,” Sprangers says. The cost of the event is $30 per person when pre-registered and $40 per person at the door. To register, go to bubolzpreserve.org/brewski/. For more information, go to bubolzpreserve.org/brewski/.
