The hot topic today starts out with a simple “hello.”

As we first reported on the FOX CITIES Magazine Facebook page Thursday afternoon, the hot broadway show “The Book of Mormon” will highlight the 2014-2015 season at the Fox Cities Performing Arts Center.

Fresh from the minds of the creators of “South Park”, the musical includes the line “Hello. We would like to share with you…” The multi-award winning show kicks off the new season with a one-week performance Sept. 16-21.

“This will be the show’s Wisconsin debut,” says Maria Van Laanen, executive vice president of the Fox Cities Performing Arts Center.

The Fox Cities Performing Arts Center announced the new lineup at its annual reveal event Thursday night. In addition to “The Book of Mormon,” the Broadway series will also include: “A Christmas Story”. Nov. 18-23; “Once”. Jan 27-Feb 1, 2015; “Mamma Mia”, Feb 27-March 1, 2015; “Annie”, March 24-29, 2015; “Jersy Boys”, May 5-10, 2015; and “Dirty Dancing”, June 2-7, 2015.

We will feature the entire Fox Cities Performing Arts Center Lineup for the 2014-2015 season in theSeason Lineup section of our website and each show will also be highlighted in our calendar.

While “The Book of Mormon” will be the top water cooler discussion today, we’ve still got things to do and see before September. When it comes to this weekend, you probably want to start getting your Irish on in anticipation of St. Patrick’s day.

The festivities get underway this weekend with parades in both Sturgeon Bay and Green Bay. New London will launch it’s week-long festivities Monday with Leprechaun day, when the town’s name is magically changed to New Dublin for the week. The festivities in New Dublin will last throughout the week.

In a less green environment, the Weidner Center for the Performing Arts presents the musical H.M.S Pinafore, a classic musical of life on the high seas. The show’s only performance is tonight.

On Saturday. the Fox Cities Symphony Orchestra and Corey Chisel will team up for a unique event on the Fox Cities Performing Arts Center Stage. Chisel’s work will receive full symphonic treatment and he will discuss and perform some of his favorite classical pieces. This will be the first time he has performed with a full symphony.

Meanwhile, the Boys & Girls Club of the Fox Valley will host Vintage in the Valley, a fundraiser featuring food and wine. Proceeds from the event supports the organizations programming for more than 14,000 youths in the region.

Another hot ticked for Saturday night will be the appearance of jazz guitarist Pat Metheny, will be performing as part of the Lawrence University Jazz Series. he will play at Lawrence Memorial Chapel.

Monday brings us to St. Patrick’s Day. Everyone is Irish for at least the day.
