Score a home run with a Timber Rattlers game

It’s been 20 years since the Timber Rattlers became a part of Appleton’s baseball history. For two decades, the Timber Rattlers have given local baseball fans a chance to take in a game without having to travel far or empty their wallets.

Families are buying much more than a ticket when they come to Fox Cities Stadium. They’re buying an experience with a chance to see future stars and sometimes current Major League Baseball players. The ballpark is a perfect atmosphere to spend an afternoon or an evening.

The Timber Rattlers are offering great promotions all season long to celebrate their 20th anniversary. Radio Announcer Chris Mehring spoke about the season-long celebration and its meaning. “It’s a milestone, but it’s a part of the history of Appleton baseball that dates all the way back to 1909,” Mehring said. The Timber Rattlers are just a portion of Appleton’s baseball history. The city saw its first team in 1891 and has also been the home of the Papermakers and the Foxes. In 1995, the Timber Rattlers formed as a Single-A affiliate of the Milwaukee Brewers.

The Timber Ratters are taking their fans back to 1995 with bargain deals throughout the season. Remember how little you paid for a ticket 20 years ago? The Timber Rattlers remember and are featuring throwback pricing nights where the ticket prices are the same cost as they were in 1995. Throwback prices include $3 grass seats, $4 bleacher seats and $5 box seats.

To show off their rich 20-year history, the Timber Rattlers also have giveaway days where the first 1,000 fans receive a throwback bobblehead. The bobbleheads are of former Timber Rattlers and feature some current Brewers such as Jim Henderson, Scooter Gennett, Martin Maldonado and Khris Davis. Some MLB stars including David Ortiz and Felix Hernandez also are featured in bobblehead giveaway days. There is only a handful of throwback games left on this season’s schedule. They include:

July 29 — Asdrubal Cabrera bobblehead and throwback pricing
Aug. 3 — Khris Davis bobblehead
Aug. 12 — Martin Maldonado bobblehead and throwback pricing
Aug. 28 — Shin-Soo Choo bobblehead

In addition to all of this, fans also get to see their team play in throwback jerseys. As a way to pay tribute to their milestone, the team wears uniforms based on the 1995 season.

Fans will be able to purchase the game-worn jerseys in a silent auction at the final game of the season on Aug. 29. The Timber Rattlers had a record-high average attendance of 3,780 last season and continue to make Fox Cities Stadium a place for fans to enjoy.
