History Treasure Tour

Fourteen Brown County historical organizations will open their doors free to the public revealing many of the community’s “hidden” historical treasures. This relaxed event encourages the public to explore Brown County’s rich historical past, while enjoying fun, hands-on activities, special behind-the-scenes tours and exclusive access to expert staff in unique historical environments. 4-8pm. Downtown Walking Tour

Discover Green Bay’s intriguing history at the Brown County Historical Society’s Downtown Walking Tour. Explore the historic Astor neighborhood, journey along the Fox River and learn about Green Bay’s rich culture. Reservations requested. 9:30am-12pm. Hazelwood Historic House, Green Bay. 437-1840.

Asylum Revisited Walking Tour

May 23 & 30

Using historic maps and photographs, join History Museum at the Castle historians to reconstruct the Outagamie County Asylum grounds (the land behind Brewster Village). Imagine stepping inside resident housing, visit the site of an act of arson, and explore the community that once lived and worked there. 6pm. Outagamie County Cemetery, Appleton. 735-9370.

Time Traveler’s Camp

June 15, 22 & 29

The Neenah Historical Society invites students in grades 2-6 to learn what life was like 100 years ago at three day camps at different Neenah landmarks. Time-traveling campers will tour Doty Cabin, learn how food preparation was for Neenah’s early residents and work with Neenah Police Detectives to learn how mysteries are solved.
