The St. Norbert College theatre program will present a new adaptation of Rona Jaffe’s 1958 bestseller “The Best of Everything”, a comedy/drama set in Manhattan between 1952 and 1954. The play tells the story of Caroline, April and Gregg, secretaries at Fabian Publishing. Unlike their fellow secretaries, they’re not just there to kill time until their weddings to their high school sweethearts. They want something more — thrilling careers and adventures in addition to marriage and family. These days, people call that “having it all,” and endlessly debate whether it’s possible. These women call it “The Best of Everything,” and they wonder the same thing.
