The Lawrence Gamelan Ensemble, Gamelan Cahaya Asri, along with the Lawrence Academy of Music’s community ensemble, Gamelan Sekar Kemuda, close the university’s 2016-17 World Music Series. The concert features dynamic and exciting traditional and contemporary works from Bali, Indonesia with gongs, drums and complex interlocking rhythmic patterns. The concert includes meditative traditional ceremonial pieces and vibrant contemporary music. Free, but ticket required. 920-832-6749.
