In a joint performance, the Lawrence Wind Ensemble and Symphonic Band present a program with mostly 20th-century music. Under the direction of Matthew Arau, the symphonic band performs the world premiere of Lawrence graduate Issac Mayhew’s “Examination of the Basis of a Thought,” “Festivo” by Edward Gregson and Howard Hanson’s “Chorale and Alleluia.” The wind ensemble’s program includes Sergei Prokofiev’s “March op. 99” and guest conductor Mark Dupere on Samuel Barber’s “First Essay.” Free and open to the public.
