WISCONSIN WOMEN AND THE ALL AMERICAN GIRLS PROFESSIONAL BASEBALL LEAGUE: PLAY BALL!
Join us at the Neenah Public Library for the Adult Afternoon Program, Wisconsin Women and the All American Girls Professional Baseball League: Play Ball!, with author and storyteller, Bob Kann on Monday, May 7th, at 2:00 p.m. This presentation is free and open to the public.
Kann will be speaking about the about the Wisconsin Women who were part of the All American Girls Professional Baseball League (AAGPBL) as depicted in the film starring Tom Hanks and Geena Davis and more specifically, Joyce Westerman, who was a Kenosha native and played for eight years (1943-1954) in the AAGPBL. 36 years after Westerman had quit playing baseball, Westerman and other women in the league were chosen to become members of the Baseball Hall of Fame. Come and hear the exciting and true stories about Westerman and the women who played professional baseball in Wisconsin.
