Snapshots from Third Field: Stories from an Army Medic in Vietnam
Veterans Day, Monday, November 11, 6:30 p.m.
Neenah Public Library

Join Jim Filapek as he shares excerpts from his recently published book, Snapshots from Third Field. Snapshots recounts events from his service as an Army Medic in Vietnam in 1968. Photos from his time in Vietnam will also be shown. The 31 separate “snapshots” (or chapters) cover a specific event, incident, or reflection. They reflect a wide range of situations and emotions – uplifting, fearful, comic, discouraging, hopeful, or simply informational.
Jim was born and raised in Milwaukee. He graduated from Carroll College in 1966 and served in the US Army from July 1967 to July 1969. Jim married Laurel Grey in 1967, (immediately prior leaving for Vietnam), and is the father of three children and grandfather of five. Jim retired from Miller Electric in 2006 after 32 years. He lives in Appleton.
Snapshots from Third Field will be held on Veterans Day, Monday, November 11, 2019, 6:30 p.m. at the Neenah Public Library. A limited number of copies will be available for purchase. Refreshments served.
