Friday, May 11, at 7:30 pm, in Perry Hall on the UWFox campus the Fox Valley Concert Band, under the direction of Dr. Marc Sackman, will present its Spring Concert, with a theme of music of Revolution in France and America. Included will be music based on the early American composer William Billings, Hymn and Fuguing Tune #1 by Henry Cowell and William Schuman’s New England Triptych. The French part of the concert will include excerpts from Les Miserables which will feature our guest artist, UWFox Choir director Linda Feldmann, singing “I Dreamed a Dream”. Also on the program will be Leroy Anderson’s Bugler’s Holliday and Down a Country Lane by Aaron Copland. Both France and America will be represented with our marches for the evening, Marche Lorraine by Louis Ganne and Liberty Bell March by John Philip Sousa.
The concert is free and open to the public.
