This illustrated lecture, informed in part by recent oral histories conducted at UW-Madison, focuses on the August 1970 bombing of the Army Mathematics Research Center, housed in Sterling Hall on the campus of UW-Madison. Orchestrated by radicals in opposition to the war in Vietnam, the bombing resulted in extensive property damage, the death of an innocent bystander and a decline in subsequent antiwar protest.
