Native plants and rain gardens are great tools for the gardener interested in sustainable garden practices. Brent Hanson of Hanson’s Garden Village, Rhinelander, will discuss rain gardens and their design and plant selection, with a special emphasis on techniques for clay soil. As part of a family business which includes his wife, son and daughter, Brent Hanson has been involved with just about every aspect of commercial horticulture for over thirty years. The Hansons are strong believers in growing “locally” – including a major effort to produce local ecotype native plants.
