With the right preparation, you can excel at your audition and get the part of your dreams! Nancy Irizarry-Beachy and Mackenzie Gens will be teaching this week’s class, Preparing for the Audition.

Nancy’s motto is “sing out loud and sing out strong.” Some of her past productions include: Cabaret, Chicago, Jesus Christ Superstar, Spamalot, and she played “Mama Bear” in Shrek the Musical. Most recently she was a featured soloist in the Fond du Lac Community Theatre’s (FDLCT) 60th Anniversary Broadway review. Nancy has also been in UW-Fox Valley Theater’s Dream Role show for the past four years. Nancy works as the Social Services Director at the Wisconsin Resource Center and serves as the Worship Arts Ministry Leader at Springfield Community Church in Lomira. She chaired the FDLCT’s Encore Youth Theatre Committee to help raise up a next generation of actors. Nancy and husband Larry have gone to Haiti as missionaries, and Nancy loves sharing her music with the children there.

Mackenzie is a new director with FDLCT! In addition to playing “Emma Carew” in Fond du Lac High School’s Jekyll and Hyde, she has also has been in productions of Shrek the Musical, Wedding Singer, The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, Godspell, South Pacific, High School Musical, Dear Edwina and Charlotte’s Web. Mackenzie is currently a stay-at-home mom of two little boys (ages three and five) and is on her third year as a full-time student at Moraine Park Technical College studying Business and Legal Office Administration. In her spare time, she loves to play with her boys, cook, and go on adventures with her little family. She is also an aspiring acting coach.
