POOCHES & PAGES: KIDS READING TO THERAPY DOGS @ THE NEENAH PUBLIC LIBRARY
Neenah Public Library’s Pooches & Pages: Kids Reading to Therapy Dogs will be held on Saturday, October 10. Register your child for a 15-minute appointment between 10:00 and 11:30 a.m.
Pooches & Pages is a reading program for kids in first through fifth grades, held on the second Saturday of the month. The children read aloud to registered therapy dogs that are gentle, calm and polite and listen patiently and without judgment. Each is carefully selected to ensure a safe and fun experience, and the owner/handlers are library volunteers who love helping children become enthusiastic readers. Reading to dogs builds reading confidence and self-esteem, helps a child maintain focus for a longer period of time, and increases the motivation to read.
