On August 21, the continental United States will see its first total solar eclipse in 38 years. The shadow of the moon will cross the country providing an opportunity for what may be an unprecedented number of people to witness this extraordinary natural phenomenon. Right here in Green Bay, the Sun will be about 80% eclipsed. Join Dr. Brian Welsch, an assistant physics professor at UW-Green Bay, as he discusses how to safely view the eclipse as well as solar phenomena that you might see, such as a “diamond ring,” coronal streamers, and perhaps even a coronal mass ejection!
