William Shakespeare’s last masterpiece is filled with trickery and magic, romance and revenge. In this production, the play is set on a remote island in the 19th-century “Steampunk” era, and Prospero, the deposed ruler of Milan, is cast as a woman to explore a mother-daughter relationship with Miranda. “The Tempest” celebrates the curiosity and capacity of the human mind and exposes the fears, anxieties and self-serving impulses that threaten to overwhelm it. Tickets: $15 adults, $8 seniors/students. 920-832-6749. http://www.lawrence.edu/conservatory/box_office/tickets
