Under the direction of conductor Mark Dupere, the 90-member Lawrence Symphony Orchestra opens its 2017-18 season with a program of three works. The concert features British composer Vaughan Williams’ popular “Fantasia on a Theme by Thomas Tallis,” Leonard Bernstein’s Overture to “Candide” and Robert Schumann’s 1850 “Symphony No. 3,” also known as “Rhenish.” Free and open to the public.
