More than 30 students and six conservatory faculty members will collaborate in a performance of major contemporary works in the season finale of Lawrence’s 2017-18 New Music Series. The program includes George Antheil’s “Ballet Mécanique,” which features four pianos on stage, Louis Andriessen’s “Workers Union” and Frederic Rzewski’s minimalist masterpiece “Coming Together,” which features a recited text from a letter written by Sam Melville, an Attica prison inmate who helped organize the 1971 riots at Attica. Free and open to the public.
