Wednesday, August 31 | 6-7:30 pm
Led by Jackie Johnson ND, Kristin Urban MA, Northeast Wisconsin Unit of the Herb Society of America
The Victorian period was known for rigid morality and flamboyant decoration. Open expression of affection was frowned on…but elaborately illustrated books showed young lovers how to communicate their affection through the silent language of flowers. Today’s smart phones and text messages are just a new method of private conversation, hidden from prying eyes. Today, the language of flowers has expanded to converse about any special event. Whether the message is one of sympathy or congratulation, of welcome or affection, a cleverly selected bouquet can share words from the heart. Handouts and a make-and-take tussie-mussie will be included in the presentation.
