The Girlfriends Read Book Club will meet to discuss the book Brown Girl Dreaming, by Jacqueline Woodson. This Newbery Honor Book, told in verse, reflects the author’s experiences growing up African American in the 1960s and 1970s.
Girlfriends Read features books with strong girl characters, written for ages nine and up but with broad appeal. Meetings include lively discussion, book-related activities and snacks.
To register and get a copy of the book, stop at the Neenah Library youth desk. Register early – space is limited, as are the number of books available for loan.
