In this solo exhibition, Emmy Lingscheit (IL) casts her eye upon the fringes of civilization where species are compelled to both flee and remain, adapt or die.
Drawing from her interest in dystopian fiction, scientific research about the impact of human activity on the environment, and her experiences of nature, Lingscheit made a pack of vitreous china coyotes in various stages of deconstruction. Shown alongside her works on paper, these canines extend from the wall into the viewer’s space and activate the expanse around them.
