Lake Superior is the largest freshwater lake in the world, and it is the coldest, deepest, and the highest in elevation of any of the Great Lakes. Lake Superior is also the site of 350 recorded shipwrecks with more than 1000 lives lost, including the famed wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald.
