Tom Nelson’s new book, One Day Stronger, tells the story of how he fought alongside a local union to save the Appleton Coated paper mill in Combined Locks, Wisconsin. It is a gripping tale of work by Tom and others that helped hundreds of community members keep their jobs. It is a story about creative thinking, underdogs triumphing, and preserving the American Dream.
Tom will share his account of events along side other panelists who played important roles. It is particularly important that this story be told at Hearthstone. Henry Rogers, the builder of the residence, was a founder of the paper industry along the Fox River.
