Technical work in piano lessons is usually focused on the piano student, though the physical demands of teaching piano can be challenging. In this workshop, Anna Reiser and Kathy Privatt will share strategies for staying healthy while teaching piano based in the Taubman Approach to piano playing and the Alexander Technique. Participants will learn ways to move optimally during teaching-related tasks, from demonstrating at the piano while standing to typing lesson schedules at the computer. This workshop is open to 16 participants, which allows everyone the opportunity to practice strategies directly with the instructors.
