Author Presentation-A German Bohemian Immigration
Thursday, March 7th at 6:30 p.m.
A simple family history research project evolved into a detailed examination of a significant German Bohemian immigration to Calumet County in eastern Wisconsin. Highlighted by scores of family names that populate northeastern Wisconsin to this day, the research and resources provide a context to a wealth of information compiled from sources in Germany and the Czech Republic.
Dr. Steiner will describe her research process that resulted in identifying 570 German Bohemians who relocated to Calumet County and/or used Calumet County as a steppingstone to their final destinations farther west. The stories of five Calumet County German Bohemian families will be highlighted.
All interested individuals are welcome to attend this free event. If accommodations are needed to attend, please contact the library at least 24 hours in advance of the program.
