Come to the Paper Discovery Center for a celebration of the solar eclipse. The party is from noon to 3:00 pm and admission to the museum will be free during that time.
A total solar eclipse will pass over the continental United States on August 21st. While only a narrow path along the center of the country will experience the total eclipse, the rest of the country will see a partial eclipse. Here in Appleton, eighty percent of the sun will be blocked as the moon passes between the earth and sun.
Eclipse viewing safety is important, and the Paper Discovery Center will teach and provide safe viewing methods.
Party activities also include a countdown to maximum eclipse, make your own eclipse, solar bead bracelets and more. Refreshments will be served.
The viewing party will be held rain or shine, as a live streaming video of the total eclipse will be shown.
For more information about the eclipse see eclipse2017.nasa.gov.
