PATRIOTS DAY – FILM AND PANEL DISCUSSION

Pacesetters Running Club, in partnership with the Neenah Public Library, will host an evening dedicated to the tragedy of the 2013 Boston Marathon bombing. The event, to be held on Wednesday, May 24, 6:00 p.m., will feature the film, Patriots Day, followed by a panel discussion led by local Fox Cities runners and spectators who were present at the Boston Marathon on April 15, 2013.
Patriots Day, a 2016 drama/thriller, stars Mark Wahlberg, Kevin Bacon, John Goodman, J.K. Simmons, and Michelle Monaghan. Based on true events, the film is an account of the bombing and the aftermath, including the unprecedented manhunt in which thousands of police searched for the terrorists responsible for the attack. Immediately following the film, a panel of local marathon runners and spectators who were at the Marathon during the bombing will lead a discussion of the events of that day.
The event is free and open to the public. Doors will open at 5:30 p.m. Popcorn and pop will be served. Patriots Day is 133 minutes and is rated R. Children under 17 will not be admitted to the film unless accompanied by a parent or guardian.
