About the Workshop:
Mandalas are found among the most ancient art forms created by human beings. The word “mandala” is from the classical Indian language of Sanskrit loosely translated to mean “circle”. Describing both material and non-material realities, the mandala appears in all aspects of life: the celestial circles we call earth, sun, and moon, as well as conceptual circles of friends, family, and community. In this one-night course, students will learn the basics of drawing mandalas through symmetry, diagrams, and tool use to be able to confidently draw mandalas in whichever amount of detail they choose. People from all walks of life are encouraged to come try this art form that is a beautifully integrated view of the world and life itself.
