Catherine McKenzie took this photo at the 2021 Flag Day Parade in Appleton. “I was at the end of the parade route when the marvelous 2d Marine Division Band marched by—they were so impressive,” she says. “As a former band kid, I appreciated their impeccable marching and playing. I photographed the band as a whole and then started noticing individual members, including these three stalwart young Marines.”
