Stories from our northern National Parks

Feb. 10 @ 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm

Kelly & Christian Ramstack of Manawa will share stories & interesting adventures at Pictured Rocks, the Apostle Islands, and Porcupine Mountains. Inside program 1 – 2 pm, followed by snowshoe hike from 2 – 4 pm. Sponsored by Fox Valley Sierra Club, Shawano Pathways, and NNC. Frozen Fun Winter Open House

Feb. 17 @ 9:00 am - 1:00 pm

Frozen Activities including: arts and crafts, face painting, Frozen character costume contest (Noon), games, sledding, skiing, snowshoeing and more. Fees for: face painting, chili luncheon, and $5 per person for horse drawn sleigh rides. All other activities are free of charge

Torch Light Ski/Snowshoe Event

Feb. 23 @ 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm

Come snowshoe or ski a one mile loop from the nature center to the bog and back. Enjoy the light of the stars and moon by torches lining the trail. Rental equipment is available for an extra fee. Register online at www.navarino.org (Click on events) or call the center at 715-758-6999

Evening with the Sandhill Cranes

Apr. 5 @ 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm

Watch up to 3,000 Sandhill cranes come in to roost for the night. Guided hike with naturalist, Q & A on cranes, binoculars and spotting scopes will be available. Please RSVP by Register online at www.navarino.org (Click on events) or call the center at 715-758-6999.

Fairy House Workshop

Apr. 7 @ 9:00 am - 12:00 pm

Create and decorate a Fairy House for your home or garden using natural materials. Class is for adults and youth 14 and over, younger may come with adult helper. Minimum of 4, max of 10. Sky Dance – Woodcock Program

DNR led program on the “Woodcock”. Aldo Leopold’s “Sky Dance” reading, followed by a short walk and viewing of woodcock courtship dance at sunset.

Earth Day Open House

Apr. 21 @ 11:00 am - 2:00 pm

Celebrate Earth Day at Navarino in 2018. There will be wagon rides of the wildlife area, Face-painting, Plant sale weather depending, pond creatures, kid’s crafts, build a bird / bat house, food, and much more! Fees for food, refreshment, facepainting, and bird/bat house building. All other activities are free of charge.

Living Wreath Workshop

May. 31 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm
