Saxophonist and singer-songwriter Braxton Cook is celebrated for seamlessly blending modern jazz, progressive R&B, funk, and soul. He’s worked with Jon Batiste, Solange Knowles, Christian McBride, Christian Scott, Mac Miller, and Rihanna.
A Juilliard graduate, Cook is recognized for pushing contemporary jazz forward. And his genre-bending approach has earned him a “jazz prodigy” label by The Fader and a “Top Five Jazz Artist to Watch” mention by Ebony Magazine.
Braxton won an Emmy Award for his musical contributions and featured appearance in a mini-documentary about John Coltrane. He also made featured contributions as a saxophonist and vocalist on Jon Batiste’s Grammy-winning album We Are. Since 2015, Braxton has released 7 studio albums as bandleader and made several appearances on NPR’s highly popular Tiny Desk Concert series.
