Steven Robbins set a goal of capturing a photo of a fox after hearing about two young kits in the area. He set out for Heckrodt Wetland Reserve in Menasha and got exactly what he was aiming for. “I was lucky enough to see this one pop out of its den just long enough to get a few good pictures,” he remembers. “With the sun setting, there wasn’t much light to work with but the fox kit decided to stop just long enough in the bit of sunlight shining through the trees for me to capture this moment. What could be better than seeing a fox in Fox Cities Magazine?”

Love this photo! As a former board member of HWR, I know how rare it is to actually see Fox kits, so this is extraordinary. Love the comment about seeing a Fox in Fox Cities Magazine, too!
