Jimmy Ray Hipp released his first LP of original music in 1977. Back then he was an acoustic guitar instrumentalist in the mold of Leo Kottke and John Fahey. Over the decades Jimmy’s musical journey has included forays into country, rockabilly, jazz, and folk, with many solo CD projects to his credit. His original songs and arrangements of classic tunes are distinctly his own, with a mellow, soulful voice and creative fingerstyle guitar backing that blends nicely with Max Jones’ incisive lead guitar.
Max Jones has been performing on the guitar for over 20 years. He began his professional music career playing in blues-rock bands in the Fox Valley, and then moved on to playing electric and acoustic lead guitar with a variety of Mile of Music singer songwriters. A self-taught student of multiple musical genres, Max’s guitar work blends his influences into a powerful amalgam of the music styles he loves. He is a master at shaping his skilled playing to fit whatever musical project his is involved with, always playing what best suits the songs and the mood of the performance.
