6:00 p.m. Heavy hors d’oeuvres and cash bar
7:00 p.m. Pre-Concert Talk
7:30 p.m. Concert
Halfway through the 13-day Chamber Music Institute, students and faculty mix and mingle with the Green Lake Festival “family” before a lively and impressive free concert in which they collaborate as equals.
This convivial social gathering and concert, now a cherished annual tradition, got its start in the late 1990s after former GLFM Director Jeannette Kreston launched what is now known as the Chamber Music Institute. Over the years it has taken place in a barn-turned-performance-space at the Krestons’ home, on the picturesque green at Ripon College, at Ripon’s First Congregational Church, on the lawn of Betsey and Larry Miller’s home, and at the Rodman Performing Arts Center of Ripon College.
No tickets required! Since 2016, GLFM has offered concerts without direct charge, instead relying on generous support from grants, corporations, sponsors, individual donors, and free-will donations at concerts.
