Technology Use and Brain Wellness

Details

Join us at the Neenah Public Library for our Adult Afternoon Program series. Our kickoff event is on Monday, October 5th at 2:00 pm in the Shattuck Community Room. LaReina Tipping, Program Manager from the Brain Center of Green Bay will be presenting a program on the use of technology and how it impacts our brain.

Technology use can actually cause structural changes in the brain. Pings, alerts, rings, and notifications can shift our focus in a way that can lead to long-lasting difficulties with paying attention. Difficulties paying attention can lead to poorer performance on academic, personal, and professional tasks.

Let’s embrace neuroplasticity, be mindful and balance our technology use.

The hour-long program will take place on the first floor in the Shattuck Community Room at the Neenah Public Library. All interested individuals are welcome to attend this free event. No registration is necessary.

If accommodations are needed to attend, please contact the library at least 24 hours in advance of the program. For more information, please contact the reference desk by phone: 920-886-6315, e-mail: [email protected] or visit our website, www.neenahlibrary.org.

The Friends of the Neenah Public Library and the Neenah Public Library Trust Fund present the Adult Afternoon Program Series. Donations are always accepted and appreciated.
