What’s Going On? The Weekend Preview (3/21-24)
So much for the first day of spring!
That’s right, today is the Spring Equinox, and the days are supposed to get gradually longer – and warmer – until late June. I think Mother Nature missed the memo. It’s a blustery mid-30s today and the weather does not look much better through the weekend.
It would be real easy to burrow under that blanket on the couch and refuse to come out until we get some decent weather. It would be hard to blame you. But this is Wisconsin, after all, a state in which grownups will stand shirtless in mid-December for a Packer game and think nothing of it. I think we can handle a late start to spring.
The best way: get out and do something. That’s one of the great things about living in the Fox Cities, we always have plenty of options to keep us occupied and engaged until we can acually enjoy the outdoors again.
Ghost The Musical wraps up its Fox Cities run with 6 shows between tonight and the final performance on Sunday evening. Based on the hit movie, the performance provides a heartwarming emotional workout from the opening notes of “Unchained Melody” to the final fade in the reprise.
Ever wonder how Kohler Co. comes up with those great designs for your faucets and other fixtures? You can gain some insights into minds of the industrial designers and artists who create them at the opening of the 40th Arts/Industry Exhibit at the John Michael Kohler Arts Center. The opening celebration for the exhibit is Saturday and the exhibit will run through August. The exhibit features more than 300 works created by artists-in-residence in the Pottery, Foundry, and Enamel Shop at Kohler.
New London—known for a few more days as New Dublin—will conclude a week of St. Patrick’s festivities with its annual parade and a day-long Irish Festival.
The Building for Kids here in Appleton will celebrate a week of happiness with activities throughout the weekend.
