The Wisconsin Symphonic Winds conducted by Mark Fonder present a windband concert entitled, “Windscapes: Building Lifelong Musicians” on Sunday, June 23 at Neenah High School’s Pickard Auditorium. The 75-minute concert begins at 3pm. This unique performance features music by Gustav Holst, Carolyn Bremer, Norman Dello Joio, and Ottorino Respighi. After the intermission, music of four Wisconsin composers, Larry Daehn, Rick Kirby, Pierre LaPlante, and John Harmon are presented showcasing area middle school students in concert with the musicians of the ensemble. These promising students, nominated by their band directors, hail from throughout Northeastern Wisconsin. The Wisconsin Symphonic Winds, now in its 16th year, is a premier wind ensemble featuring the state’s finest adult musicians. Come on out and support them in their participation in what promises to be an exciting musical experience.
