TRUE CRIME SERIES
Join us at the Neenah Public Library for a series of True Crime presentations given by Wisconsin hosts.
The kick-off event is going to take place on Wednesday, September 18th. The Devil You Know: Father Alfred Kunz will be presented by Gina Barton, an investigative reporter for USA Today. More often than we’d like to believe, people get away with murder. As cases grow cold, cops retire. Witnesses die. Evidence disappears. Barton is the reporter, producer and host of the national Edward R. Murrow Award-winning podcast, Unsolved, and the author of the true crime book, Fatal Identity. Host and producer Gina Barton will share her experiences investigating and reporting some of these stories.
The second event which was rescheduled from its original date will be held on Tuesday, October 1st. Madness & Mayhem in Madison: The Mad City Murders will be presented by Jeff Finup. Jeff Finup is an author, researcher, explorer, and the creator of Badgerland Legends and co-host of the Wisconsin Legends podcast. “The Mad City Murders” or “Capital City Killings” spanned fourteen bloody years from 1968 to 1982. Jeff takes a deep dive into the string of murders and speculates who might be responsible and what set off the phenomenon. His book, Wisconsin Legends for Kids, will be available for sale at the event for $10.
Lastly, the hosts of the Wisconsin podcast, Badger Bizarre, will be at the Neenah Public Library on Wednesday, October 9th. Scott Wittman and Mickey Sanders will discuss various Wisconsin true crimes cases. Badger Bizarre is a true crime podcast that features true crime, unsolved mysteries, paranormal tales and bizarre happenings in the state of Wisconsin.
All events will be held at 6:30 pm. Some of the content may contain graphic or mature material. Parental discretion is advised.
