THE CLAW! A New Children’s Musical is coming to THELMA this Summer!

Camp Dates/Time: Monday, August 1 – Friday, August 12, 2022 (No Camp Sat & Sun) | 9:00 AM – 2:00 PM Daily
Price: $195 ($156 for THELMA Members) | Snacks and T-Shirt included!
Age: 9 – 14 years old (fourth – eighth graders)
Performance: Friday, August 12 @ 6:00 PM

THELMA’s arts day camp – On Stage @ THELMA will feature the theatrical adventure “The Claw!” During the two-week camp, fourth through eighth grade students learn the lines, the songs, the choreography, and build the sets. On the final day, students will perform the musical for family and friends!

This new musical is packed with fun, adventure, and life lessons about dealing with transitions and embracing the unfamiliar. When an out-of-order claw game suddenly turns back on, all the toys are ecstatic! Well… all the toys except for Dot, a terrified stuffed cow. Dot’s desperate to hold onto her home and her best friend, Aiden. Can Dot conquer her fear of the unknown with some help from the Flair Bears, Mighty Mutant Power Turtles, Beanie Elders, and the all-knowing Mystical 8-ball?

Eva Thelen-Dunphy, director of the Fond du Lac Children’s Chorale at THELMA will direct the production again this year. Eva has more than 10 years of experience directing and producing Children’s Theater, including last year’s On Stage @ THELMA production of “BOTS!” The children will also gain hands-on experience with set design by working with visual arts instructor Anoush Cowles. Cowles teaches at Evans and Rosenow elementary schools. Both bring a passion for children’s creative process to the production!
