Discover Shawano’s history at the 13th Annual Rhubarb Fest, where on this day the main attraction is rhubarb. Taste the many rhubarb bake sale items including pies, tortes cakes, muffins, cookies and breads. Also, rhubarb lemonade, sangria, rhu-berry Sun Drop slushies and a rhubarb beer will be available. Brats, hamburgers and even ice cream will be served with a rhubarb sauce! Enter the pie contest, tour museum buildings, learn about the life of a fur trader, how to spin wool, make corn bread, carve wood and more. The Civil War Re-enactment Company E, 2nd Wisconsin will set up camp on the grounds for a firsthand experience of this transforming time in our nation’s history. Be sure to shop a unique selection of items from the Historical Society’s gift shop including a rhubarb cookbook, rhubarb jam, books, and more. You will also find vendors with everything from soaps, jewelry, wood crafts and original artwork for sale. Then sit back and enjoy live music including country, bluegrass and acoustic.
