This fall, the Distinguished Guest Series marks 75 years of giving voice to musicians, poets, actors, and dancers. Kohler Foundation is proud to announce the 2018-19 line up of performers, recognized for the unique perspective they bring to their craft and noteworthy careers they have led.
A multi-talented collective, Postmodern Jukebox reimagines contemporary pop, rock and R&B hits in the style of various yesteryears, from swing to doo-wop, ragtime to Motown, or as Scott Bradlee, founder of the collective puts it, “pop music in a time machine.” Originally a YouTube phenomenon, it’s onstage where the project has really come to shine, playing hundreds of shows to sold-out houses across the globe, from intimate standing-room only gigs to large-scale, theatrical extravaganzas. Since 2009, Postmodern Jukebox has amassed more than 925 million YouTube views and 3.2 million subscribers, chalked up more than 1.3 million likes on Facebook, performed on Good Morning America, topped iTunes and Billboard charts, caught the attention of NPR Music and NBC News, and played hundreds of shows to sold-out houses around the world.
