Under the joint direction of conductors Nick Keelan and Mark Fonder, the Lawrence Symphonic Band performs a seven-piece program that includes “Flourish for Wind Band” by Ralph Vaughn Williams and the Cuban-influenced “Tocata and La Tumba de Alejandro Garcia Caturla” by Shelley Hanson. A special tribute in memory of former symphonic band member Laura Van Asten will feature two contemporary compositions by Eric Whitacre. Free and open to the public.
