Kwanzaa Celebration at University of Wisconsin-Green Bay, Phoenix Rooms at University Union building
Kwanzaa is an African-American celebration based on the tradition of the African harvest festival emphasizing community and cultural pride. Enjoy music, dancing, food, and learning about the holiday’s origins, rites, and symbols. This year’s celebration focuses on Imani principle, which is faith. The guest keynote speaker is Ajamou Butler. He is from Milwaukee, WI and he will share his story of faith and Heal the Hood MKE. In addition, music and dancing will be from Nefertari Dance Company. This dynamic group involves community participants as young as three-years old through the age of 18. This is a free event to all and light lunch and refreshments will be provided while supplies last.
