We’re celebrating National Library Week with a performance by the jazz trio MJD.
MJD performs dynamic original jazz compositions and exciting interpretations of jazz standards. Bassist Mark Urness, saxophonist José Encarnación, and drummer Dane Richeson are professors at Lawrence University. They combine their individual virtuosity to create a trio sound that is rooted in jazz tradition with a vision to the future. This concert will be in the library’s Fireside Room on the main floor. Light refreshments will be served.
