Junny’s Marie: My Forty Year Journey from Inception to Publication

Sharon Lamers was born in Appleton, Wisconsin in 1944, the third of four children. In 1967 she moved to Anchorage, Alaska where she earned two certifications in Montessori Primary Childhood Development/Education through the National/International Center for Montessori Education under the tutelage of Dr. Margaret Green at the Montessori Creative Training Center. She taught preschool for thirty years in Anchorage during which time she wrote all the Christmas plays and programs for the entire school. Sharon published several articles in Instructor Magazine, Mountain Biking Magazine and Alaska Magazine. She met and married her husband of forty-three years in Anchorage where they took advantage of all Alaska had to offer, biking, gardening, hiking, kayaking, camping and photographing the abundant wildlife. Her husband retired from the University of Alaska and in 1999 they moved to New London, Wisconsin where they had a house built on five acres. They enjoy scootering, gardening, kayaking and their three rescue cats. This is her first book.

Author Sharon Lamers will share her forty year journey to write Junny’s Marie that began when her mother wanted Sharon to tell her story.
