The John Michael Kohler Arts Center invites Wisconsin visual artists living within 125 miles of the Arts Center to apply for an Artist-in-the-STUDIO residency. One artist will be accepted for a residency in the Social STUDIO, a hands-on drop-in public space for collaborative art making.
The residency will take place in the Social STUDIO at the John Michael Kohler Arts Center between October and December 2022. The residency length is five days, either consecutive or spaced out on dates to be agreed upon between artist and the JMKAC education team.
Artists-in-residence help Social STUDIO visitors deepen their connection with current exhibitions and themes, helping the public see themselves more easily in the work on view. Applicants should review JMKAC’s current theme, Ways of Being, and consider how their artistic practice intersects through concept, medium, or both.
Note: Artist-in-the-STUDIO residencies are open only to Wisconsin visual artists who live within 125 miles of the Arts Center, which is located in Sheboygan, WI.
Application Deadline: Friday, August 19, 2022
Notification of Acceptance: On or before Friday, September 9, 2022
