The Fox Cities Book Festival celebrates its tenth anniversary of connecting writers and readers with a week-long schedule of events planned for October 9-15, 2017. The 2017 Book Festival will bring back many favorite authors, along with fascinating new authors from Wisconsin and across the country. There will be some familiar faces at this year’s book festival including Nickolas Butler, Will Schwalbe, Benjamin Percy and Benjamin Ludwig.

Laurie Halse Anderson, bestselling author of children’s picture books, YA novels, and historical fiction will be at two events, both on October 10. Anderson is best known for her novels Wintergirls, Twisted, Chains and Speak. Her first talk “The Power of Speaking Up: The Writing of and Reaction to Speak,” will be from 1:00pm to 2:00pm at the Neenah Public Library, and her second talk, titled “Censorship in America: Why Are Adults so Afraid of the Real World?” will be held the same day from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm at UW-Fox Valley Perry Hall.
